Writing Assignment for "O Brother Where Art Thou" Choose any one theme or scene or character in the film to analyze in depth (script is on-line here: http://www.allmoviescripts.com/scripts/131139753f4e8411a605b.html). Your goal is to show how the film plays off Homer's Odyssey. Observations of other classical moments in the film are welcome in an additional list (not essay form). Your essay should be 300-500 words (typed, double-spaced). Feel free to cite both the film and the Odyssey directly to prove the connection you are drawing between book and film (but limit your direct quotes to only the necessary length). Your list can be as long as you like (extra credit for really good observations we didn't mention in class discussion).
