We did not see bears when we visited Yellowstone in either 1995 or 1998. However, this time, we ended up seeing quite a few! We watched this young black bear for close to an hour near a park road. The park ranger said he was just over a year old.

Although we've seen the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone a number of times over the past 5 years, we never tire of this view. The picture was taken from Uncle Tom's Trail.

We hiked away from the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone into the back country where we visited an isolated mud pot that is not frequented by "tour bus visitors."

Abigail and Noah both had #2 jerseys for Dixie Youth ball this past spring. They were often holding hands during our trip west.

Hannah and I climbed a steep hill that overlooked the campground where we stayed while at Yellowstone. I like this picture of Hannah among the flowers.

The kids and I visited Yellowstone Lake one day. The water was VERY cold, but Hannah, Abigail, and Noah loved it ....
We saw many buffalo while in Yellowstone. This is the best buffalo picture I took.

You're right .... Mount Rushmore has not been moved to Yellowstone National Park. We enjoyed a short visit there the day after we left the park, as we sped east through South Dakota on our way back east.
