Syntaxe: French syntax is for the most part similar to English. Remember, though, the present in French can be translated three ways in English. So J'étudie can be translated as I study, I do study, I am studying. He eats, He does eat, He is eating. There is no need to translate "do" or "am" because it is understood.
Translate:

Jean doesn't like to travel. Jean n'aime

Conjugate the verb "to be" être. Do it again, saying
it aloud three times.
