I arrived in Krakow, Poland on 21 August. This is early morning on the
22nd, looking southwards toward the old town.
In the center of the city is the old town square. The platz is empty
because it is 7am - a good time for a picture of the center building.
A quick picture of my hotel just outside old town.
Krakow is celebrating its 750th anniversary as a city. The banners crown
all the streets in the old town.
That day (22nd) I took a trip to see the concentration camps of
Auschwitz and Birkenau. This is a sign pointing to the town (the German
name for the town is 'Auschwitz').
The famous entrance gate to Auschwitz: "Arbeit macht frei" - roughly
"working makes you free."
