Course requirements
1. ATTEND CLASS REGULARLY. An important percentage of your grade is based upon class participation, preparation, and regular attendance. Three absences from class are permitted. More than three absences will affect your final grade and more than six absences (i.e more than two weeks of class missed) will result in failure in the course. Please notify me about an absence before class (by telephone or e-mail).

2. DO YOUR HOMEWORK REGULARLY. Set aside TWO HOURS (minimum) of time to prepare for each hour in class. You will be assigned regular grammar, writing, reading, and laboratory listening exercises.

Course objectives
The primary purpose of this course is to develop, through listening, speaking, reading, and writing, your ability and confidence to communicate in the French language.
