Troop News and Announcements

The February campout has been cancelled because of some really bad weather. Enjoy the snow at home!

On Feb 23 there will be an orienteering meet at Fork Union Military Academy (sponsored by the Quantico Orienteering Club). We will be leaving Farmville around 11:00 Sunday morning. If you are interested in going, call or e-mail Robb Koether no later than Thursday evening.

Coming up: The March caving trip. Mar. 14 - 16.

Troop Information and Contacts

Troop 6516 is an organization of the Boy Scouts of America for young men, ages 10 through 17, who want opportunities to explore the outdoors, develop character, and perform community service. We are in the Weyanoke District of the Robert E. Lee Council.

We are sponsored by St. John's Lutheran Church in Farmville.

  • Regular Troop Meetings every Monday night, 7:00 - 8:30 pm, whenever Prince Edward County public schools meet.
  • Troop Committee Meetings the second Monday of every month, 6:30 pm.
  • Patrol Leaders Council the last regular meeting of every month, 6:15 pm.

How to Join

To join Troop 6516, call Scoutmaster Dempsey Jones at 392-1053. Or you may drop by at any of our troop meetings at St. John's Lutheran Church in Farmville. The church is located just south of Wendy's in Farmville on Main Street. We meet every Monday night at 7:00 when school is in session. However, we don't meet if Prince Edward public schools are closed for any reason (snow, holiday, etc.).

The membership fee is $25.00 for one year. This includes a one-year subscription to Boy's Life magazine.
