2003 MISSION TRIP TO MEXICO

John Osoinach at work.
|
For one week each summer, Dr. John Osoinach of the College Church family has served on a crew that goes to a border town in Mexico
to build a simple cinder block home for a Mexican family there. He has participated through his parents' church. Two years ago his
wife Carolyn accompanied him and was quite moved by the experience.
In order for College Church to have the opportunity to send an entire crew, a week had to open up on the annual summer
schedule. This does not happen very often because church groups that go once tend to return year after year. However, in May
2003,
there was a one week opening, so John Osoinach sprang into action to put together a crew for this most meaningful experience.
Those from College Church who made up the crew were: Karin Eastby, E.A. and Tom Mayo, Carolyn and John Osoinach, Katie and
Patsy Pelland, and Willie Thompson. They were commissioned on Sunday, May 18, and left for Piedras Negras, Mexico on Saturday,
May 24. They returned on Saturday, May 31 with wonderful stories and memories what must have been a truly awesome experience.

I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?"
Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."
