September 15, 2007 - A service for the Ordination of Carolyn Osoinach was held at College Church. Carolyn and her husband John were members of College Church at the time Carolyn was called into the ministry and attended seminary.

May 14, 2007 - Brayden DeWolfe was born, weighing 7' 12".
Grandparents are Tom and Carolyn DeWolfe; parents are Ben and Dana DeWolfe.


November 5, 2006 - We welcome new members Randy and May Reed and their family (10-year-old twins Elizabeth "Libbie" and Edward "Whitaker", and 6-month-old daughter Mary McLaughlin) into membership this morning. Randy is originally from Richmond, a 1982 graduate of H-SC and currently a Major Gifts Officer in H-SC's Department of Institution Advancement. May, currently a stay at home mom, is originally from Enfield, NC and a graduate of Salem College in Winston-Salem.

May 28, 2006 - Carolyn Osoinach invited the congregation to a reception in Thompson Hall after worship today to celebrate her graduation from seminary and show her appreciation for their emotional, spiritual and financial support. Her parents, Frances and David Allen, and in-laws, Susan and Pat Osoinach were visiting. Carolyn, John, and "little O" (Allen) are moving from the area this summer.

November 19, 2005 - Four members of College Church competed in the "Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis Charity 5K (3.1 miles) with 245 others at Stony Point in Richmond. They are, from left: John Eastby (2nd place, males 49-54), Karin Eastby(2nd place, women 15-19; 4th place, all females), Paul Smartschan (P.E.C.H.S. teacher/coach - 2nd place of all runners), Nitra Eastby (4th place, females 10-14), and Mary Beth Kinman (3rd place, females 15-19).
October 30, 2005 - Bibles were presented in church today to Jared Armes, Samuel Bidwell, Mary Clifford Jobe, Abbie DeLuca, Lydia Orr, and Caroline Rice.

Saturday, January 22, 2005 - The children and grandchildren of Wanda and Lindy Hamlett hosted a happy, festive 50th anniversary reception at College Church. The huge turnout of friends and family, in the midst of a sleet storm, was certainly a testimonial to the impact this couple has had on this community.

Sunday, March 18, 2004 -
Today John Allen Osoinach was baptised in College Church. His mother is Carolyn Osoinach, who is currently an Inquirer, a student at Union Theological Seminary/PSCE studying for the ministry of Word and Sacrament. Allen's father is John Osoinach, Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Hampden- Sydney College. Both Carolyn and John are Sunday School teachers at College Church, and John sings in the choir.
