About Phi Gamma Delta

Since 1967, the Delta Deuteron Chapter of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta has been an integral part of men's lives at Hampden-Sydney College.

The Fraternity provides a second home for those who choose to affiliate. "The greatest institution in America, as it has always been in the world, is the home. When the young man leaves it and goes to college he is wise to be grafted on to a new home known as the fraternity. The mother of this new home is high ideals; the father is hard work; and the brotherhood is mutual trust and assistance.” *

Delta Deuteron continually strives to develop good men and good citizens in an environment of sound learning. The Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta produces men who are at the forefront of their respective fields. The Fraternity has been home to a President, Vice-Presidents, Governors, Fortune 500 Executives, Lawyers, Ministers, and Educators.

Rush (Recruitment)

Rush is an integral part of our Fraternity. It is extremely important that the current brothers  keep a steady stream of quality men coming through the house.

Pledge

A young man's pledgeship teaches him important lessons that last a lifetime. They are taught teamwork, time management, and balance. After completing his pledgeship, a new brother learns the value of brotherhood.

Brotherhood

The lessons of brotherhood last a lifetime. Apparent in the number of active Graduate Brothers, the bonds of brotherhood are forged well. The Fraternity is not for college days alone.
