Research Paper Guidelines
- Formatting
- Type your paper on a word processor.
- Use 8 1/2 x 11 paper.
- Use 12-point Times New Roman.
- Print on one side of the paper only.
- Use one-inch margins at the top, bottom, left, and right.
- Double-space your paper.
- Style
- Give your paper a title.
- You may show summary figures or small tables in the body of your paper, but
extensive tables of data should be placed in the appendix.
- Bibliography
- List all sources that were used in the paper.
- If web pages are used, list the complete URL of each web page
that was used. If I can't find the web page, then it doesn't count as a source.
- Other
- Use a spell checker.
- Do not make any changes by hand. If you must make a change, then make it on the
word processor and reprint the paper.
- You may create or "paste" tables or graphics into your paper. Do not use
hand-drawn graphics.
